Senior
Thesis
Senior Thesis guidelines:
The written thesis is the
document submitted as the ELE 498 project report. The thesis is to be
submitted by spring semester Dean’s Date. The thesis is to be formatted
specifically to the stated University regulation that will be sent to the
student far in advance of Dean’s Date.
The student and advisor
need to coordinate in order to arrive at a committee of two faculty members
(including the advisor) who will hear an oral presentation of the project.
The presentation is separate from the poster presentation of the project which
is part of the ELE 498 independent work project requirements. The oral
presentation may be based on the poster presentation. Normally the two
faculty members will be Princeton faculty,
with an EE faculty member participating when the advisor is not from EE.
Other arrangements for the thesis committee will be approved by the
Departmental Representative upon request. The committee will provide a
written statement recommending the project for recognition as a senior
thesis.
There is no requirement
that the second committee member submit a written evaluation of the
thesis; the advisor will submit a written report along with the
recommendation for the project grade for ELE 498. The oral
presentation should be scheduled so that the written recommendation for
recognition as a senior thesis can be submitted by the due date for ELE
498 grades.
