Biography

Thomas is currently a Senior Product Manager at Avaya Inc, responsible for products in the (telephony) Appliances, Mobility and Small (telephone) Systems Division. His most recent responsibility includes Extension to Cellular and one-X Mobile, which, together, provide access to most PBX functionality, including call recording and logging, from a compatible cell phone. Previously, he was responsible for bringing Avaya one-X Quick Edition, a peer-to-peer small office telephone system, to the market.

Thomas was also a member of the strategy group in Converged Systems Division at Avaya, where he initiated the first SIP product development in 2001 and subsequently helped develop the division business plans for several years. Thomas spent parts of 2000 and 2001 in the Realization Group in Avaya Labs Research.

Prior to joining Avaya, Thomas spent thirteen years at Siemens Corporate Research, working on Neural Networks and Adaptive Systems.

Thomas co-edited four books and holds seven patents, with several others pending. He earned an MBA from Rutgers University in 2001.
