Biography

Somdip Datta is currently a Vice President in the Equity Volatility Strategies group of Goldman Sachs and Co. in New York.

Before his transition to the field of quantitative finance he received a PhD in Electrical Engineering from Princeton University in 2004. He received his B.Tech. in Electronics and Electronics Communition Engineering from I.I.T. Kharagpur, India in 1997.

He has worked for Hughes Software Systems as a Senior Software Engineer in 1997-99; interned in Fraser Research, Princeton, New Jersey in 2003; in Tellium Inc, Oceanport, New Jersey in 2000-02; and in Siemens Ltd, Kolkata in 1996.
