About the EE News web pages

A news article has two parts: a headline and a body. Both parts are mandatory.

News is displayed in four places:
EE Homepage: headlines only of selected articles
» The first word or two of each headline is a clickable link to that article's body in the Current News page.
» A link to the Current News page is at the bottom of the headlines
Current News page: headlines and bodies of selected articles
» The headline is displayed in boldface
» A link to the Archive index is at the bottom of this page.
Archive index page: headlines only of archived articles
» The first word or two of each headline is a clickable link to that article's body in the Archive fulltext page.
Archive fulltext page: headlines and bodies of archived articles

Editing the Current News:
Use News and Headline Management to create, edit, archive or delete articles. (Access to this page is restricted to certain individuals.)
After logging on, you will see two boxes for each article, one for its headline and one for its body. Concise instructions are at the top of this page.
» Note that a green background indicates that this headline will appear on the Homepage.
» To change whether an article's headline will appear on the Homepage, click "Change" and check or uncheck the box for "List this headline on the EE home page".
» If you click "Archive" next to an article, it will be removed from both the Homepage and the Current News page and moved to the Archive.
» If you click "Delete" next to an article, it will be permanently deleted from all locations.

Managing the Archive:
Log in to News and Headline Management. Near the top of this page, click the link for "archived news editor". When you are in the Archive editor, all headline and body boxes have a gray background.

» You can return an archived article to the Current News page by clicking "Un-archive" next to the article. You will be asked to confirm, and allowed to select whether the article's headline should appear on the Homepage.
» If you click "Delete" next to an article, it will be permanently deleted from all locations.

Simple formatting:
You can embolden or italicize text in an article's body only. Don't use any html formatting codes in headlines! Example:

The <b>lazy</b> brown fox <i>jumped</i> over the <b><i>quick</b></i> red cow. .
  Will produce:
The lazy brown fox jumped over the quick red cow.
Note that formatting codes must alway be used in pairs, for example, <b>...</b>. If you forgetting the closing code, it will mess up following articles.
