Setting email options :

If you are sending a single scan job to yourself, you probably won't want to bother with the email options. If you are doing several scan jobs or sending to somebody else, the options can be useful.

To set email options, press the Send Settings softkey at the lower right of the control panel. There are four options that you can enter:

  • Doc Name: the email attachment's filename. If you don't set this, the default filename will be something like "0024_001.pdf".
  • Subject: the email message subject line. If you don't set this, the default subject will be "Attached Image".
  • Message: a text message to be included in the email with the attachment. The default is no message.
  • Reply-To: add a "Reply-To" address to the email. The sender ("From" line) of the message will always be eescan@princeton.edu. If the recipient of the email clicks Reply, their reply will be automatically addressed to eescan@princeton.edu unless you enter a Reply-To address.

Setting scanning options:

The default scanning options will usually work ok. For special needs or difficult original documents, you might want to set different scanning options. To do this, press the down arrow softkey under "Scan Settings" at the upper right of the operator panel.
