Special rules apply for EE users' file storage and e-mail quotas. This includes all EE graduate students, personnel appointed by the EE department, and "non-person" user accounts created for EE research projects or administrative purposes. It does not include undergraduate students. Note: OIT account creation procedures currently are not correctly installing new accounts for EE users. See the instructions below to check whether you are included in the EE quota system. Send a detailed note to eenet@princeton.edu if you believe that your quota is not correct.
E-mail quotas are "dynamic", meaning that they are automatically adjusted three times daily according to actual usage. If you receive a quota warning, you probably need to do nothing but wait a while, then check to confirm that your quota has been adjusted. Adjustments are currently done shortly after midnight, noon and 6pm. If your unused quota is less than 15% or greater than 25%, your quota is changed to 120% of your current usage. In either case, your quota is never set to an amount less than the default of 1GB. Contact eenet@princeton.edu if you still have a quota problem after allowing time for the next adjustment.
File storage quotas are not dynamic. The default (minimum) file storage quota for EE users is 100GB. If you need additional quota, send a detailed explanation to eenet@princeton.edu with a CC to your advisor or sponsor.
You can check your quota at http://www.princeton.edu/quota/.
